With a grant from the Mass Yoga Network, we wish to bring the joy of yoga to all regardless of one’s ability to pay. Mass Yoga supports yoga in diverse communities and offers information, training and workshops. We are thankful for their support of our Chair Yoga Class for seniors.
Using a chair and standing yoga postures, seniors can develop their flexibility, strength, balance and concentration. Students learn yoga breathing and relaxation techniques for better sleep and general well being and they practice yoga postures for better balance. In the classes, exercises are adapted to meet individual needs and conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis.
Seniors will learn how they can help prevent falls, manage stress and improve their mental focus.
